GOALS AND PURPOSE
Our purpose is to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment by informing and educating the general public of the impact of human endeavors upon the natural environment in which they live; furthering the understanding of ecology and the ability of humans to live within the natural environment without destroying the ecology thereof; vigorously and faithfully enforcing the environmental protection laws of the United States of America and the individual states thereof, by instituting litigation as a party plaintiff, an intervenor, or in other appropriate capacity and status in state and federal courts; and before administrative agencies; and exercising therein all its rights to seek such enforcement, including the recovery of expenses of the litigation; to provide fellowships and scholarships and to hold educational conferences in cooperation with scientific and conservation institutions and to publish the findings of such conferences, or the reports of scientific research and related information in the fields of environmental protection and natural resource conservation.
